ITA Received, Passport Expiry Invalid

Hi

My friend an received ITA but he just saw that passport expiry date he mentioned was incorrect. The difference in what he mentioned in his profile and actual expiry is of few days. Can he correct this in his application or he needs a new ITA with correct passport number in his profile?
