Hi!

I had my landing interview today at Etobicoke.

Nothing to worry about! its just landing (instead of leaving the country and landing after the return to Canada) some people get the landing interview inland, which is actually more convenient for most of us.

My appointement was at 2pm, when I came I received a number and waited about 45 min to be called at the desk.

Officer congratulated me that now I am PR, issued Confirmation of Pernament Residency and asked about few things such as if my marital status is still the same, if I was ever convicted of a crime, if I have children.. took not more than 5 min.
Officer also gives basic info about PR - PR card will be issued in 8-10 weeks and mailed to you, you have to always have your PR card when travelling, renew PR card every 5 years, have to live in Canada 2 out of 5 years to remain the status of PR.

Then I was called by another officer to get a new SIN number, your previous SIN (starting with number 9) will be canceled and you need to advise your employer that now you are PR and have new SIN.

If you received your landing interview appointment it means your application has been approved, landing is just a final formal step.

I had to reschedule my appointment since my date was day before I was planning to travel. In the emai they said it will take 6 weeks to get a new date however I got mine in 5 days. They probably just want to avoid people reschedule their appointments but there is no problem to reschedule if you really need to (travel plans in next few weeks, sickness, work...) just reply to the email with the reason why you need to reschedule.

Bring to appointment:
Passport
2 pictures (they will send you a sheet with specifications - I took mine in Costco for $7)
current SIN number

Congrats!

Nice...thanks for detail information.

Got PPR today. My timeline is

AOR March 27th, MEP/ IP2 April 06, Ghost Update May 07, PPR June 04. 1 dependent

I got PPR, but it ask me to send passport to Visa office which is in residence of my dependent. It also says if me and my all dependent are in Canada, we can submit it in Canada.

Can I use this letter, addressed to me to send it to Ottawa and my dependent whose name is not mentioned any where can use this letter to send to her visa office of residence.

Congrats!

You can reply directly to the PPR email and let the office know your situation (eg: you need to send your passport to Ottawa and your dependent needs to send to his/her current country of residence).

PPR was not by email. It came to my MyCIC account.

Also.. It is unusual... My frnds who applied with their spouses already got before 2 months.. It's strange and frustrating...
it's not unusual - they stated it pretty clearly that "the processing time for express entry applications is 6 months"
Dude, people that applied in november 2017 still haven't received their PPR - i myself applied in February and had no updates since March 7th, so stop freaking out and chill :) we'll all get our PRs eventually
Also, if you call CIC, all they can do is tell you to be patient :)

i just dont see how majoiry of people are getting within 20 to 70 days at latest.
That is the common time frame. Yes I know it says 6 months but they just state it so that no body can call them out if their application has not been updated after 3 or 4 months.

I for one have never come across an applicant who got their PR in exactly 6 months or 178 days or or 169 days . The common number is 50 to 80 days and if you didnt get PR by then then obviously something is wrong. They may be rejecting our files or putting it under security screening.

Lets face it, these are not complicated files and files that need to be approved, they get approved within 2 to 3 months at latest and files that are not getting approved, they are the ones delayed for god knows what reason.

Majority of Feb and March applicants have already gotten their PRs, those like me who are still stuck are just waiting to get rejected.

Face it, its either 2 to 3 months of processing or beyond 6 months i.e more than 1 year or so
That's not correct - I've seen cases from friends of mine and also other people that took over 6 months (1 friend took 6 months exactly from the day he applied to the day he got his PPR). Many factors influence on the checks they perform.
I know it's frustrating, but there are other people who are waiting for longer than 2 months. So like I said, calling them ain't gonna make your application to be processed faster. Just join us in waiting :)

it frustrates me that no one still has exact knowledge of what exactly happens in Background check. That's all.

I passed eligibility 1 month after AOR, thinking I'd get PPR easily and here I am 2 months later, depressed and miserable with no updates.
And I totally feel you. A friend of mine who applied after me, already finished her whole process, now just waiting for her PR card - she logged in on her account yesterday and even though she's already done, it still shows as "we're reviewing your eligibility - we're processing your background check" - I wish there was something we could do but there ain't :/
