Work experience

Dear All,
I am bit confused about counting my work experience. I have work experience of 11 months as teaching assistant on contractual basis from Aug 2009 to July 2010. Can I count this work experience as this will not be my primary work experience but can add to my crs score.
Please forgive me if I sound silly.

If you can get a reference letter and appointment letter for that job, you can include this work experience.

Thank you so much for your reply. Do I need to get appointment letter too?? I can get reference letter as the prescribed format with all the duties and details, do I need appointment letter for all the jobs mentioned or reference letter will work??
