And my application's what anyone would say should have been an open-&-shut 'straight-shot' case file. Nothing outside of the 'five eyes' countries in my background, plenty of buffer days of physical presence, clean record, employed, tax-payer, homeowner, good credit report, never any welfare or work injury claims, well educated, native English speaker, with basic schoolboy French. What else could Canada possibly want in a prospective new citizen; am I missing something? Are they sitting on my file until I give up and leave? Could the Minister spend a little less time solving sartorial problems with his tailor & his PR goons, and a little more time hands-on leading his Department? Is it time for a cabinet reshuffle yet? How long is the PM's patience?

Will cross post-IP 180-day mark in 2 weeks
I bow to your seniority in the Club, hehe. I wonder what Hussen thinks would happen to the economy if every private-sector entity in the country told its customers to pay in full upfront & then wait twelve months before daring to even ask a question. This is what happens in the total absence of competition. Accountability's at the ballot-box.

Same here, 136 days since IP started and nothing. Calling the call centre is useless, always the same answer. Just waiting and waiting....

I am actually filling out the application form for PR card renewal - thought I wouldn’t need it , but now it seems there is a good chance I won’t have the Canadian passport by the time my card expires early next year ...

I gather that they've decided to prioritise the urgent issuances of open work permits to irregular-entry refugee claimants, as well as prioritising their resettlement beyond QC & ON, as well as allocating resources to help them find housing, and schools, and jobs, and language classes. Hopefully IRCC's not forgotten, in their haste, to prioritise their health screenings for tuberculosis, polio, measles, chickenpox, malaria, Ebola, parasites, etc.

I'm in the same boat as you. I never thought I'd need to renew my PR card, but I will have to now, as well. The Call Centre's language has subtly changed; now they're saying that the twelve months is just an average which they aim for.

I admire your patience. Maybe, if we move our deckchairs to that side, the Titanic won't sink.

And I've been more than patient, for two years, following C-6's incompetently-managed progress through Parliament. Now only to see it be snafu'd by the mediocrities in bureaucracy.

My next benchmark day is just some three weeks away; the date on which I'd have been eligible anyway, under C-24.
