Hello everyone,

I husband is applying for an Outland sponsorship application, but my passport is expired and it would take months to renew.

Am i able to submit it an expired passport. I took a look at the checklist and it said the below:

"Most recently issued passport or travel document for you and all family members (who will accompany you to Canada)"

"• Include only copies of pages showing the passport or travel document number, date of issue and expiration, photo, name, surname, date
and place of birth of holder."

Its not mandatory you include a valid travel passport when you submit your spousal sponsorship application.........but you are required to provide a valid passport before your sponsorship application processing is completed..........you need a PR visa, valid COPR and a valid (i.e., unexpired) travel passport to enter Canada as a PR.

If your passport is expired you must have to apply to re-new the passport........and send the new passport to IRCC.

Refer.......Spousal Sponsorship Checklist.

Note: Although you do not need to have a valid passport or travel document when you submit your application, you must have a valid travel document or passport to be able to travel to Canada and to be admitted for permanent residence. You will need to demonstrate that you hold an acceptable travel document or passport before we can finalize your application

Thank you very much for the response, sounds great.

So basically we need it to be valid only when they request the passport
