My course is Masters of Management - Logistics & Supply Chain Management. I have mentioned it my SOP that I want to do that course as it will empower me & provide me the skill sets to streamline and expand my family business (manufacturing) in India. Also now that almost all the big MNC's are in India, supply chain is a booming industry. Consequently, the course will give me the springboard to take advantage of the endless new opportunities back home in India after I complete my course.

As for funds, I have the GIC for one year expenses and have paid the initial deposit required by the University to block my seat. Additionally, the bank statement shows sufficient funds and I also have an affidavit of sponsorship for study & Living expenses from my parents.

Lastly, I do not have any gap post my last education in 2010. Been working since them. Cleared my medicals too.

Would all this suffice?
Yes. I hope your chosen course is relevant to your undergraduate degree and work as VO also reject VISA's if the course is not relevant to previous study/work. I would advice you to research a little bit more though about the VISA rejections, as a lot of people are applying to canada and they are rejecting a lot of applications. But your profile is very strong in my opinion, you should get VISA with good SOP. Best of luck.

Thanks a lot for the wishes. Honestly, really need it at the moment. I did my dual master's in international business and commerce from Australia from 2008-2010. Then came back to India and been working since then. Now want to do a course in supply chain management as it is a kind of a backbone of International Business. Hope that the VO can put two and two together.

Oh. You already did master's. You need to convince VO then why doing masters again makes sense for you. You need to research seriously as this is a sleepry slope for you.

I know what you mean. Nevertheless, there are myriads of people who pursue further studies even after they have already done their masters. Had many such people back in my university in Australia. Also, a couple of my former colleagues who too had already done their masters and had 5-6 yrs work ex, applied for another master's program last year and got the visa too. So I don't think that could be an issue in my case as well.

Moreover, if you look at it, I came back to India after my course and working since then paying all the taxes etc. So in that sense, this can be in my favor since you said they need to be convinced that I will come back. Even the SOP could not have substantiated my claim of coming back, as much as my history of studying abroad and coming back does. Let's see what the future has in store.

Hi everyone! I am from India and I have been accepted to Western University for their Masters program. I have some queries and was hoping to find some answers here.

1. Is it mandatory to get GIC for universities too? I have secured education loan from the bank, plus money in fixed deposit in my account which is more than enough for my 1 year of study.

2. Should I opt for paper based or online application?

3. My PR application is currently in process. Should I mention yes to the question have you previously applied for Canada visa?

is paper based better or online application is better for visa?
Hi Manju,

As far as the question regarding mode of submission is concerned.. I would probably in the favor of Online application over Manual Submission.. Although I myslef submitted my own Visa application manually but after reading the reviews of those who submitted their applications via online, I come to a conclusion that those applied Online got their decision within 35-40 days. On the contrary, those submitted manually get to know the outcome of their application somewhere around 9 weeks. However, online applicants could hear bit sooner from embassy but still the total days may touch to 2 months as they get the request for Passport Submission at VFS and then Embassy stamps the passport but atleast one is relieved that Visa has been approved....
