Hi All,

We applied super visa for our parents and paid the fees already. Later on we realized that we also need to purchase health insurance for them. Since this is not on the visa application checklist, we didn't buy one. But according to this forum, we do need to show to the visa officer that we have purchased an insurance.

So now we found out that the insurance can cost up to $2500. Our parents are only planning to visit us for just about a month and it's sort of a waste of purchasing a one year insurance.

Is there anyway to cancel the application or change the application from super visa to regular travelling visa?

Thanks!

It is mandatory to include proof of super visa insurance with the application. That's one of the key factors that affects the decision for a super visa.

I recommend you do NOT cancel their current applications. It would only delay/add to the processing time. Typically, it could take up to 8 weeks for the files to be closed.

You can immediately send Case Specific Enquiries + email the relevant visa office.... with the amended application forms for a TRV selection + mention you had incorrectly selected super visa previously

You can find a supervisa insurance option that is a month to month paid option... got one for my Mum and dad with pre existing conditions and it was only $150 per month per person ....
And once they return to their home country you just show them proof of departure and they will stop charging your credit card

Thanks Bryanna. Contacted with the relevant visa office and they said they are not responsible for online application. So seems that web form is the only option left. I've filled one and attached with the amended IMM5257. Is that sufficient? Do you have any experience how long would CIC actually fix the application?
