Citizenship background check

Hi..

Like to know about background check at the time of citizenship application...my question is ...

1..Are they going to check only inside canada or outside canada...
2..At the time of PR i already submitted my Australia standard police certificate and my USA police clearance certificate...
3..And i dnt have any criminal background ....and after my PR i only travelled 02 times to india ..never travel back to usa / australia...pls guide

1) They need both. That's why they ask for police certificates from other countries.

2 and 3) It's a matter of where you've been in the last 4 years before the day you submit your application, regardless of what you sent for a previous application. If you spent 183 days (total) or more in one country in that timeframe, you'll need a police certificate for that country. If it's the case for either the USA or Australia, the police certificate would probably need to be a new one.

Im in canada since i got my PR never travel back to australia and usa
Since i got my PR i never travel outside canada except india only for 01 month ...so its mean they check inside canada right...

Hi Arnav, Whatever info is there in your eligibility period will be checked. If your Australia and Usa trips were before the eligibility period no need to worry as you have already submitted police clearance during PR process and only being to India as stated.
