Hi all,
Can I get my fingerprints done through the authorized agent and leave them in Canada with my family if just in case I am asked to submit by IRCC?
Someone advised me to leave the fingerprints with your family/friends before leaving Canada. So that if IRCC asks for fingerprints, I can ask my family to send the same fingerprints report to IRCC while I am outside Canada.
Authorized fingerprints agent told me that fingerprints reports are valid for one year. Will IRCC accept fingerprint reports done six months before the issuance of fingerprints requisition letter?

Your informed opinions and suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks you

Based on my experience, your fingerprints are collected electronically and immediately sent to the RCMP, based on the formal request from IRCC. The result is sent directly to IRCC. I think that your plan is not viable

Hi,

Yes you can do it based on my own experience. I have done my fingerprints at authorized agent around 10 months ago for some other purpose and I ended up not needing them so I kept them at home. I was requested to provide fingerprints by IRCC earlier this month, but I was out of the country for several weeks. I told my friend to take the fingerprint request and letter and start the process. One week later, I received the RCMP fingerprint result letter which I forwarded to IRCC office.

So yes, you can do that.

What did your friend have to do to "start the process"?

He went to an authorized fingerprinting agency with the IRCC fingerprint request, the already completed fingerprint form, and photocopies of my ID. There were no issues with the process.

I happily stand corrected... :)
