Hi Guys,
So I am all set to put in my application. I started working in 2008, however, during 2013 - 2014 i had hit a rough patch and do not have any work experience to show for. Thats about 14 months. is there any kind of documentation i can show to explain this gap.
I am applying with my wife as primary applicant as she has a 10 year solid work experience. She is into Events Industry and i am a cook. However, over the past year and a half, i have moved into Sales(food-bakery related)
any and all suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

No effect on your application.
Hi

As you are an expert in this matter please help me with this situation

My employer in the reference letter has not mentioned my first designation I joined as in 2006...only mentioned my last held position in the company and they are not ready to change the letter. Will this work or the ITA can be rejected for this reason. Really confused.

Thanks

How many years of work experience do you have in your most recent designation? (I'm assuming this is your Primary NOC?)

Even if your designations changed, if the NOC remained the same throughout your employment then it doesn't matter if the designation back in 2006 wasn't mentioned.

I was a research associate when I joined and in a year became a consultant.(this is not mentioned in the letter)

there is no specific code for research associate though the work I did was same through out and so I mentioned the same code in my EE profile

What do you think?

If the NOC stayed the same then your reference letter is sufficient. What bothers me though is how you said "there is no specific code" for your position. How are you claiming skilled work experience then?

I am an recruitment specialist (consultant designation)which falls under 1223 which I have put in my EE profile as well. I have put research associate and consultant in the first year of employment and the rest of the years as consultant. My letter says last held position was consultant but nowhere mentions I joined as a RA.

That's fine, you're claiming the maximum CRS and points under the six selection factors with your experience in 1223 anyways. Just write a LOE regarding this position that wasn't mentioned in the reference letter and the fact that it has no impact on your CRS/eligibility.

Thanks for your guidance. It really helped.
One more thing please
I am the primary applicant and my spouse is secondary. His work ex is not getting us any points but we have still put that in the EE profile. Will we be asked for his work ex letter as well? If yes then Do you recon we delete all his experience from the EE and put that in the personal history section later..is that a normal practice to do?

Correct, mention it only in the personal history section as his foreign work experience is irrelevant to your application. Before you ask, no, this is not misrepresentation and it is indeed a common approach to avoid having to provide reference letters of employments that have no impact to your eligibility/CRS.

And We can do that even if we are under assessment stage for oinp?
It’s not that we can’t change anything in the profile now?right

That I cannot answer as I haven't read the oinp guide for quite a long time. I would confirm with other oinp applicants.
