Please i am new here and i need clarifications. What happens if i celebrate another birthday after receiving an ITA for express entry. Will this reduce my points? I got my ITA last month and i am still getting my documents ready. But i will be a year older on the 24th of May. Will this drop my CSR score?

It will reduce your points but this is okay as there is a guidance published by CIC instructing immigration officers to ignore drop in points due to age as long as you received the ITA prior to your birthday, so go ahead and apply as normal.

Happy birthday to you by the way and good luck on your future endeavors in Canada!

BDay is the only exception. If between your ITA and your AOR you will loose points because of your Bday, it will count as if you did not loose those points (attention, if you celebrate your Bday on the day of ITA, then tough luck there).
But for everything else (like validity of your IELTS, TEF, ECA and even 10 years backwards of your work experience). All those changes can result into your application rejection.
So for simplification:
Your Bday points will freeze at the day of your ITA
All other points will freeze at the day of AOR.
And you have to prove that at the day of ITA and AOR you were still eligible (you had enough CRS points).

Good explanation vensak although should point out that application will not necessarily be rejected due to drop in points alone if the candidate would've still been invited with the lower score if it is higher than the score cut-off for that specific draw (assuming no misrepresentation finding). This is of course within the discretion of the officer.

of course your score has to be above or same as that draw and if it is same, then you have to meet tie break rule.

ok, so i just noticed, that my birthday came after my ITA. The system has automatically decreased my points by 5. Thankfully i am still above the cut off for my round of invitation but let's record this here for posterity

i applied for Express entry and got the invite on 16th March. my score was 453 and cut off was 452. today when i was going to submit everything it showed me, my points are 448 as i turned 30 yesterday.
now my lawyer says that we can submit and risk the $1100 as i am doing it for my spouse and myself. can anyone help me and tell how can i present my case to CIC.
i don't want to wait for crs to go below 448 as everything else is done and i have all the documents.

Please advise
