I've taken both IELTS (once) and TEF (twice):

Ielts: L: 8.5 R: 9.0 S: 6.5 W: 6.0
Tef (1st attempt): L,R,S: all CLB 10; W: CLB 8
Tef (2nd attempt): all CLB 10
Congrats!! You succeeded at the 2nd attempt.

I also took TEF twice... but in my case, both times same results L10 R10 and S&W CLB 8. :( And that exam is not availble in my country so, if I want to retake it a third time, I would have to spend additional money for flight tickets and hotel. :(

They were still processing many of last year's applications when this year started. Hence, I am sure the number of ITAs issued this year will be less than 2017. At least we will have an idea that how many people on average are in the pool. I know I haven't even categorized the points each family has, but I just want to have an estimate for ITAs. Secondly, last year people were new to EE system, They made countless mistakes that resulted in rejection. But everyone is learning by other people's mistake. I, for instance, learned on this forum that my PCC was invalid. I am now happy that I did not submit my application after receiving ITA as my POF was not intact. It would have been rejected anyway, not because of my POF, but due to my invalid PCC. So again, this year the rejection rate, for sure, will be lower than the last year.
Hi, sorry to ask since it seems that you already explained it in a past post. Why was considered as invalid your PCC?

There are already so many worries, please don't add more to this list. This is a Ray of Hope, let us hope for some good fortune tomorrow and the coming days.

You are supposed to obtain PCC once you leave a country for good. So let's say I moved from Pakistan to Iraq. Pakistan is no longer my country of residence. I obtain PCC from Pakistan after moving to Iraq, but I visited Pakistan for a few days last year. So My PCC becomes invalid. I didn't know that. I thought a short visit won't count, but I am told on this forum that it does. Got my PCC during my last visit but it doesn't cover the last 4-5 days I spent in Pakistan. Similarly, another country where I lived for a few years was Malaysia. I had Malaysian pass. I left the country but visited it again on visit visa, just for tourism purpose. I obtained my PCC after that short visit. So my Malaysian Certificate of Good Conduct, which basically covers my long term stay in Malaysia, way before this short visit, is valid. Had I visited the country after obtaining PCC, my PCC would have become invalid. Hope I explained it all for you. Good luck.

lol, no matter how hard I try, I cant help being skeptical of IRCC's policies. Ray of hope keeps getting shattered draw after draw this year. We better be realistic.

it's simple rule folks anybody 425+ till next Jun ..they will be in ...it's just a matter of time...don't try to rush here n there untill you really want to be Canada this year ...e.g. PG degree or retaking IELTS. .just remember Rome was not built in a day....All 420 + will be in sooner or later ...till then just relaxed n spend quality time with your family ..coz after landing there you may not return in initial 2 -3 years

HI Guys,

One quick question: My NOC is 2174 - I've decided that this NOC was the closest to the work I do while creating my EE a few months ago. It's either this or 2173. Now SINP is going to open in a few weeks if I heard right, but SINP doesn't have 2174 and only has 2173 as the occupation-in-demand. My question is, can I still apply? i.e I'll be applying with the NOC 2173 not 2174 which has always been my NOC in my express entry profile - is this allowed? legal? Need some info on this.

As always, thanks for your input, guys.

Hi, it depends... How much are you ready to spend in time (only a couple days/ week or at least 5 days/week) and in money (a private tutor is better than a general course, but it´s way more expensive also). Also, it depends of your skills at learning a new language (if you are a person who already is able to use several languages, it may be easier to you).

Personally, and after listening to other opinions regarding this, if you are starting from zero, to reach CLB 5 level you should have done at least 9 months of intensive course. CLB 7 (4 abilities) is more difficult to obtain, and maybe at least 1 1/2 year of intensive study. Writting and speaking are the toughest to achieve.

Anyway, it is always a good option to start learning French... Good luck!
