Do the indian students get study permit on conditional acceptance

Hi All

I have been given a conditional acceptance by one of the universities in Canada . The condition is that I have to pass a prequisite English course or ESL as i had fallen short to the university’s English proficiency requirements by 1 point . But prior to that , a college in canada had said that the students from India , Bangladesh and Pakistan face visa issues on ESL pathway programs.
This has left me in a total doubt .
So can anyone please clarify me this fact .

Thanks
Hasnain

You have been accepted into the university so if you meet all the other criteria for a student visa, i don't see why you wouldn't get one? However, keep in mind that those ESL courses would cost you anywhere from $6k-15k as you'd have to pay international student fee.

Yes , thats right the fee for ESL is $5.5k.
But there was page on Canadain government website which showed the requirements of the study permit for Indian students, it stated that an unconditional acceptance is required for visa approval .
So if the conditional acceptance is a thing out of their criteria , then they might refuse on giving a visa .

There you go ,you got your answer. I would suggest just retaking the IELTS test

Have you taken IELTS? If you have what are your scores?
I have given Toefl , in which I scored an 87. Computer engineering requirement in
University of Saskatchewan was 86 with 19 or + in all the sections, and i got 18 in my writing section which eventually made me below par .

I would say it could cause problems then when you apply. You may have a conditional acceptance from the University, but they don'y give the visa, the CIC does.Take IELTS before you apply.

If you get a good score in IELTS, in my opinion the University would remove the condition. But you are always taking the chance of your visa being rejected with conditions.
