Try this webHi there friends,
I am a new Express Entry applicant based in Addis and trying to get PR using the Federal Skilled Worker stream. I have learnt there is one organization in Ethiopia called Canada visa application Center (CVAC), also mentioned in some posts here.
My question is,
- is it necessary to send file and make the process through them when applying to the Nairobi Visa Office?
- Can't we manage all the process by ourselves?
- Any advantage/disadvantage you may share with me in using CVAC?
Thanks
I know the process details stated in the CIC website but was just wondering how people are paying a company to do it on their behalf... just checking if there is any advantage in using their service to process a PR application.
Usually people unable to fill the form or unable to understand the application process usually pay them. In my opinion, you don't have to pay if you able to understand everything on CIC web and able to fill the forms properly. as far as i know most skilled worker applicants don't use them.I know the process details stated in the CIC website but was just wondering how people are paying a company to do it on their behalf... just checking if there is any advantage in using their service to process a PR application.

it seems that it may take more time to process the PR... people was saying 4 to 6 month. you need to decide which one you value most.. the PR or the scholarship. I am not sure if your university can do this or not, but some universities provide the option of extending your admission. A friend of mine once got a scholarship that starts on January but due to Visa related issues he can not go there on time so he wrote the university and they changed his admission time to September. You may try to do so if this is OK with your University.Hey guys.
My file was transferred to Nairobi Office on May 11 2018 and I am kinda lil crazy situation here. I got a scholarship in another country and the program starts in september so i was wondering if i can postpone my pr application or if i should give try and see if they can grant me z pr before september. Any advice???
From July they will require your biometrics once you get ppr, so this requires you to be physically present.Hey guys.

Its also possible to have your file trasfered to another VO. And to activate your PR status you can do a soft landing. So there are options maneuver.Hey guys.

What do you mean by that?... does this mean all PR applicants need to travel to Nairobi VO in person for the bio-metrics? I am residing in Tanzania. From July they will require your biometrics once you get ppr, so this requires you to be physically present.
You can also ask the HC about the status of your application, here is the email.
