Hello Friends and Senior Forum members,

I received an update in my PR application that my medical passed and the Background check is in progress. Along with this I also received a message requesting me to provide RCMP Certified Criminal Record Check.

I am currently in USA and have worked in Canada for more than a year in the past. I understand the requirement of this document. I need help from others who have had got this processing done from within USA and what is the best/quickest way to do it.

All your help is much appreciated.

Since I have applied for RCMP now and confirmed that RCMP letter has been sent back. Adding the process I followed below for reference if it helps others:

Step 1: Went to nearest fingerprint service provided by police and got fingerprints taken in standard US fingerprint card. US fingerprint card is acceptable for this process. Payed $9 for 1 card and $1 for an additional card as it was not much for the 2nd one.
Step 2: Went through all the accredited agencies listed in RCMP website and compared their prices. The cheapest and simplest one I chose was GambitID (https://gambitid.com/index.html).
Step 3: Sent them an email and received instructions to fill out form online. This is required as there is no other way to initiate the form from their website. They send a link that will already have some of your details attached. This may vary depending on agency you choose.
Step 4: Paid their fees $100 CAD. Their website says this is including RCMP $25 included but they confirmed its after discounting the $25 it's $100. Note you don't have to pay RCMP $25 if you are applying for Immigration.
Step 5: Paid $5 CAD for Gambit receiving my letter from RCMP, sending me a scanned copy and sending actual letter by standard mail. You can choose to pay more and have them send with tracking number, but I did not see any benefit of doing that. You can also choose to not pay this fees and have RCMP send letter directly to you. Remember it will come in standard Canada Post and will take a long long time to reach.
Step 6: You receive confirmation and a reference number and a consent form to sign with finger impression for releasing your info to them.
Step 7: Sent the FBI fingerprint card with consent form, Passport size photograph and 2 identification document copies (passport and DL in my case) through FEDEX priority shipping with my reference number in the label. Cost me $47.
Step 8: They received the package the 2nd day afternoon and within an hour had e-filed my application and sent me a Document Control Number (DCN).
Step 9: Sent an email to RCMP for status update after waiting 3 business days (excluding the day it was sent). RCMP responded within an hour and confirmed that they processed it the next business day of when it was e-filed and letter sent to agency address provided in my application.
Step 10: Sent an email to agency to check if they received as it had been 3 days already since RCMP sent, but they had not (typical Canada Post).

Currently waiting for Canada Post to deliver and Gambit to send me the scanned copy. But sure of the letter as no records found, based on the time RCMP took to process.

So how much time it took in the end to get the scanned copy?
Roughly 10 days from when I sent the fingerprint considering I submitted the post as overnight delivery.
