Dear all,

Have been working for US entity for over a year (as a senior executive). Wife moved to Canada for job. I have applied for PR and OWP, but did not realise that OWP will take >8 weeks because application won't be 'read' until then. (is this true?).

Question: Any issue with applying for an inter-company transfer for a work permit? Does that affect the other matters in any way?

I am a UK Citizen. Wife is a Canadian.

Thanks for your advice!

Hi

Where are you?

If you are currently in the US and applied inland with an OWP, expect the app to be returned. You would need to apply outland and therefore wouldn't qualify for an OWP.

Hi, I'm currently in Canada. I applied inland with an OWP. But I am still employed outside. The question is could I leave, and apply for a Intra-company transfer, which is much faster? does that prejudice my application?

Many thanks for guidance!

Not sure what you mean by "could I leave" but if you mean, leave Canada, yes it would put your PR application at great risk.
The OWP usually takes about 4 months, but I'm not convinced that an ICT is going to be much faster. They are not given out lighly.

If you leave for more than a few weeks, you risk your inland app. Also note that it generally takes about 3-4 months to get the OWP.
