Consumer proposal... Plz help

Hello,

I have subitted application to sponaor my husband.

Im worried that my consumer proposal might be viewed has bankrupcy.

does anyone know id this will affect my sponsorship eligibility? Will I be approved to sponsor even with consumer proposal?

You should be fine, as a consumer proposal is NOT "declaring bankruptcy". It utilizes the "Bankruptcy Act", but is very different i.e. if filling out any random paperwork for any purpose if there is a question if you've ever declared bankruptcy, someone going through a proposal can safely answer "no".

Yes, consumer proposal should be good. Bankruptcy, on the other hand, won't make you eligible to sponsor.

Hi everyone i am in the same situation...i have filed for consumer proposal last year and i have never missed my monthly installments till now..i am gone sponsor my wife next month..so will it be a problem by CIC or it will be OK..thanks

My application was accepted and I was approved as sponsor. Consumer Proposal did not affect sponsorship
