2018 Spousal Sponsorship in-land Applications: timeline and updates

Hello all

I would like to share some information o
In case some of us are not aware of it.

Being inland applicant, if you are in implied status and your services card for medical expired and still have not received your renewed work permit. You can renew your health card by sending permanent resident fee receipt.

I hope this will help some of us .

I am completely new to this forum, we did read a lot here and it did help us to get our papers ready, we would have been lost without this forum...
And now my first question is coming up, because I am getting worried...
We did apply for the Spouse Sponsorship Inland with OWP, Papers (the new forms) got send at March 05th 2018, arrived at March 06th 2018 means already 2 month ago and i did read that all who did apply at this time already got the AOR 4 weeks later... what can I do because I didnt got anything now?

Check your spam folder in your email (both the sponsor and Principal Applicant) sometimes it goes in there. If not then I would say wait another week or two as it is still early. AOR can come in between 4-6 weeks from the date CIC recieved the application package.

My application is at the same time, see my signature for detail. It usually takes 4-8 weeks, since yours is already 8 weeks, maybe you can 1. check your and your other half's email and spam folders, 1. check if it has been returned due to missing docs, 3. call CIC and explain the situation, be sure to call them early in the morning to save some waiting time. If you have work permit/student permit before, find the UCI number to give it to the CIC rep.

Yes I saw your signature and from other members that the AOR already came, thats why we got worried... We did check both our mails incl. spam folder, we already thought about, nothing there... we did try to call in the morning, if you wanna have the status from your application the phone machine asking for the application number which we dont have yet... or is there another phone number, we maybe used the wrong one?
I only have the UCI from extent my visa, this works too?

UCI won't chance, you will have the same UCI number for all your applications in Canada. Don't panic for now, as the timeline is not concrete for everyone. Also use this link: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=ecas it accepts UCI number.

UCI won't chance, you will have the same UCI number for all your applications in Canada. Don't panic for now, as the timeline is not concrete for everyone. Also use this link: https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/introduction.do?app=ecas it accepts UCI number.

- Confirmation of receipt (sponsorship application): 24 April 2018

We used the new application forma, and submitted everything up-front (schedule A, police certs etc).

As we now have a UCI/Application number, can we now link the application to the online account? I've tried to link them, but the website says that there's no record of the application - is this normal?

Hey, We are one day off of you in the process- Received in Mississauga March 28th, AOR April 25th.

I also had a hard time and someone sent me this and it totally worked:


Category: Permanent Residence
Subcategory: Family (Spouse)

Use UCI and Family Name
-> do not enter anything in the town/city of birth and Country (leave it blank)

Proceed to Passport Info:
- passport number
- country of issue
- issue and expiry date

Enter personal info:
- intended residence (province and city)
- current marital status
- number of applicants: put 2 (if there's only 1 PA and 1 sponsor)

I have a question. My inland sponsorship was received on Jan 15 2018.
Got AOR on Feb 16 2018. Got request for PCC and Schedule A on Feb 16.
Submitted on March 7, 2018.
I think i am exempted from submitting Medicals as I had submitted before.
Now i see my background check is in process.
How long will background check happen ?

When you try to link your account, the last question about how many applicants: put 2 there, if just you and your wife, not 1. That's the most confused part of these questions.
