Date first became qualified to practice in this occupation?

Background:
- I was invited to apply for the Express Entry PR program
- I graduated from a Highschool in my home country on Oct 2004
- I graduated from a Bachelor degree in Marketing in my home country on Oct 2008
- I graduated from a Masters degree in Administrative Sciences in Canada on May 2016
- I started employment in Canada under NOC 6222 on July 2016 and am using this job/NOC to apply for my PR

The question on the application that I am struggling with is:
"Date XYZ first became qualified to practice in this occupation."

CIC website states that:
"This is the date when you finished the minimum level of education needed for the occupation according to the National Occupational Classification code. (Note: if the NOC only states high school, this is the date you graduated from high school.)"

NOC 6222 Employment Requirements are as following:

• Completion of secondary school is required.
• A university degree or college diploma in business, marketing or a related program is usually required.
• Previous work experience in retail or wholesale establishments is usually required.
• Supervisors and senior buyers require experience in the occupation supervised or in a particular merchandise line.

Based on this, my understanding is that the answer should be Oct 2008 - the date I graduated form a Bachelor Degree in Marketing from my home country. However, my friend is telling me that I should be putting down May 2016 - the date I graduated from a Masters degree in Canada.

Any insights on what others thinks is the answer will be greatly appreciated!

I had graduated in Dec, 2015. But, I had actually started working in March,2015. The Experience letter from my Employer would also state as March, 2015. Is this going to be a problem? Will they consider my experience from March, 15 to Dec, 15 as apprenticeship and then consider the later part as actual exp. Please advise.

Why would they consider it apprenticeship if it was a full time paid work and supported by reference letter? By the way paid apprenticeship aslo considered as valid work experience. If you haven't got ITA you can change the date for the question regarding the date you became eligible for the job and start date of your work. Full time work and full time study can be shown for the same period if it is outside Canada. You do not need to pass Masters for doing this job. A bachelor degree is enough. You can mention the date when you got the bachelors degree and I guess it is before 2015. Also please read the link in my previous post "you do not need to meet the employment requirement"; so you can safely put your bachelor degree award date as the date you become qualified.
If you already have received the ITA then you can do the change at eAPR and write in letter of explanation that it was a mistake in EE profile.

My Bachelors was in Electrical Engineering, hence I do not have significant programming component. I did my Masters in USA and here you can pretty much start working after your second semester provided it is related to your field of study. I haven't got the ITA yet. I have just submitted my profile. So do you feel, I can still go ahead with changing the date to the date(March, 2015) when I first started working in the corporate world in USA. I was working full time 40hrs/ week and I also have tax returns to prove that.

I completed my post graduation in architecture in May 2017 and I started working in the June 2017. But my degree was awarded in 2018 due to delay in convocation ceremony by the university.

I am confused what should I mention when I am asked for the date when I became qualified for the job? Should it be the completion of my course or the date when my degree got a

I think @ishq74 ,this employment clause is not a requirement for FSW Program.

If you see the booklet OP6 federal skilled worker
,Clause 12.13 pg 41,it is clearly mentioned that visa officer wont take into account the employment requirement listed for each NOC on cic website.

Exact words are -
"
not take into account whether the applicant meets the ―Employment requirements‖ description
set forth in the NOC for the occupation(s) listed (R80(3)); "

So my take on this is that the day one graduated from the college should be put in that tab.

Neither those employment requirements are for regulated profressions nor unregulated if you are applying under FSW .


Rest what @ishq74 has mentioned is right.
If it is full time and paid,it is considered.
Even it was a part of your study program.

What I meant here is you cant have a law degree and claim work experience of an architect, it will raise questions on authenticity of your work. Anyway in your case you will get both education and work experience points without any issues.
