Hey everyone! Yesterday, I got a letter from immigration saying that I have been accepted to become a PR and they provided me two copies of a Confirmation Of Permanent Residence (COPR). One of the copies has a photo of me on it and both copies have printed across the paper saying, "Not valid for travel".

What is my job now? Do I just need to fly to Canada now with all of the papers I just got along with my Passport and talk to a border agent? Or am I not allowed over yet?

Thank you in advance!

Ahh. I see on the COPR, "Valid to 2019/03/11" So now I can go up there like normal but bring both copies of my COPR along with passport and when I land at the airport do I need to go to the immigration section or just normal border agent entry point?

When you get to the regular border agent desk and they ask the purpose of your visit you tell them you are landing and give them the COPR. You will be sent to the office for a quick landing interview then you're on your way.

Don't forget you will need either a ETA or visa to go to Canada. Your COPR is not a travel document.

I live in the US which I believe I don't need an ETA. Wouldn't my passport be enough? Also, what kind of interview is it?

By interview it is just a check that you have the correct paperwork with you to meet the requirements for landing before they enter you in the system as landed and initiate your PR card application if you have a Canadian address, that’s all nothing else as the hard part was getting to this stage in the first place. Welcome to Canada
