That’s totally fine. Mine was transferred to VO on the 20th and got aor2 on the 30th of April. Some don’t get aor2 email but it will reflect in your ecas the date they started processing your application.

On 2018-04-28 they informed us of our File Transfer to VO.
And I now got this on ECAS account: "We started processing THE_NAME_OF_THE_PERSON's application on May 2, 2018."

Is this the AOR2? or should I wait for an actual AOR2 Email?

Yeah, you can call that aor 2 it doesn’t matter if you didn’t get the email as long as it is stated in your ecas that they’ve started processing it. It means your VO received your application and they’re working on it. Good luck!

I suggest you to call CIC, that is what I did. Our application was received almost same time. Call!

I start with 1 for English then 2-1-1-0 or 1-2-1-0 sometimes they will tell you that it is busy to be transferred, give it few minutes and call again and again

This is completely normal. Most people wait 45-60 ish days before they get their first correspondence with the CIC. Their goal is to have 80% of applications processed within 12 months. Some countries and some straight forward cases are being seen to be processed in as little as 5-8 months but I wouldn't get your hopes up.
