I was wondering if some body could help me.

My wife is born Canadian and has a British passport sponsoring me (British born Husband)

She lives in Canada and I live in the UK, we have been married almost 10 years now and have a British born child who is five and also has a Canadian passport. My son is currently living with me as she is studying.

My wife will be coming to the UK for a month and then we will all be travelling together to go to Canada. As I will not have had any documentation to work or study in Canada I will simply be going as a tourist.

On the forms for sponsorship under dependent I understand from reading these forums that I do not need to include my wife and son as they are already Canadian citizens.

BUT, if they are coming with me do I still need to include them? As technically they will be accompanying me or do I only include my son under the section where it asks if we have any children?

Lastly, under additional family members is this the section to include any siblings and parents even if they are not going to Canada?

Would photos, emails etc need be necessary even though we've been married for almost a decade with a child?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

A Canadian citizen is not eligible to be sponsored and cannot be issued a visa.

Your wife and Son as Canadian Passport holders, they can travel with you to Canada.

British citizen are visa exempt to travel to Canada, only you the non-Canadian will be included in the PR application to be issued PR in Canada.

If your wife and son are Canadian Citizens.......you do not need to add your wife and Son as dependants.......include their details is IMM5406 - Additional Family Information

Yes....photos, emails or social media conversations, or other documented proof of contact between you and your sponsor are required.

Refer......Spousal Sponsorship Checklist section......SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS FOR SPONSORED PERSON.....7. PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP TO SPONSOR

Advice you submit the documents as required in the checklist to avoid delays or return of your application for been in complete.

Thank you for your help much appreciated.

If whilst I am in Canada would I have to fly back to the U.K. to complete my medical? Or would I just inform them that I came to Canada during application processing? So any correspondence would be sent there?

Also if my wife and I are submitting photocopies of marriage certificate, passports etc do they need to be counter signed by anyone as genuine?

If I read the check list correctly any non English documents need to be certified and translated but as everything I have is all English I assume I do not need to get anything signed other than my photos?

Thanks again

You can do your medical exam in UK or Canada......you only have to make sure you go to an IRCC appointed Panel of Physician.

IRCC Panel Physician

No.....photocopy of your marriage certificate, passports etc is okay.......no need to be counter signed by anyone.

If all your documents are in English......you don't need to get them translated and certified.
