Hello all

Sorry guys to bother you I just have 1 question in terms of working holiday visa

So I’m going to be staying with my gf when I get the working holiday visa but I was just wondering do I need to put her address when like opening up bank accounts etc or can I use a PO box address am I allowed to set one up while on a working holiday visa

And also one more question sorry to be a pain but in terms of the money can I have the $2500 in cash or does it have to be in a bank statement as I prefer to have it in cash to convert it right there and then or do they require it in a bank statement

Thank you all I advance I appreciate the help

You can have the money in cash. As long as you can prove you have enough money, it doesn't matter if it's in cash or bank statement. I am not sure about your first query though.

Did a quick google and this is what I got from the Canada Post website:

When you pick up an item at the post office, you’ll need to show acceptable identification. It must be original, valid, government-issued photo ID. If the photo identification does not contain the address (such as in the case of a passport), proof of residency is also required.

It doesn't say anything about needing to be Canadian so it looks like as long as you have your passport and either a lease agreement or some kind of bill (phone, internet, bank statement) showing your name and address, you should be good to go.

I'm not sure to be honest. I wish I could help more but I have never opened one up myself or known anyone who has. I don't really see why it should be an issue though. Tbh though, I think you should be able to open a bank account even without a permanent Canadian address. Plenty of IEC participants move from place to place and have no problems opening bank accounts,
