Hi guys,

Any idea what qualifies as proof of address- government issued, that is NOT a driver's license? I thought about using the T4 but it doesn't qualify.

Much appreciated.

For what exactly are you submitting this proof that it has to be government issued? A photo ID card would be another example

I am submitting it for "Proof of relationship to sponsor". where i need to pick two options ( page 8 of form IMM5533, item number 7).
I have phone bills, pay stubs, tax bills and so many other papers but from the list I am not sure i can submit phone bill and pay stub ( they are under the same check box), so i had to chose government issued document option. for that, I basically have nothing.

and thank you for your response, much appreciated.

I also have the marriage certificate, which is government issued and shows our address ( marriage was registered in Canada).

Why don't you just select the "Other documents" option?

I am selecting the other, but It also says "Select at least Two". For example, if I select government issued document, I have to provide one document for each of us ( only my spouse has one, I do not) - So I cannot check this box I suppose?

Additionally, I do have a
* joint bank account (snapshot showing the account for each of us separately, with the same address)
* Roger Phone bill ( showing two separate lines on a shared everything plan, showing only my name though)
* Pay stubs, credit card statements, T4s, etc... countless non government documents for me showing my name and address.

I am including all of these, but not sure which boxes to tick in the checklist.

I don't understand the issue. You have a joint account and joint utility, which meets the "Proof of joint utility" option and the other stuff for the "Other proof" option.

ok maybe i am over complicating it. The "other" category says submit a minimum of 1 document for each person. so for myself it could be a paystub and for my spouse it could be a credit card statement.

Do you have government-issued ID like BCID? or care card (MSP card)? Student/Work permit? these three are the common ones.

For my spouse yes the driver license, for myself I don't have a driver license and I am not sure what else qualifies as government issued. it is blowing my mind because I lived here for almost 10 years, am even currently in process for citizenship even... but can't find any one government issued document with my address!

i think the SIn card will serve the purpose and health card is also valid

If you lived here for 10 years, you should at least have care card.
