Chances of getting PR ?

I've completed diploma in mechanical engineering.

1. If I study Automobile engineering or motive power engineering , what are the chances of getting PR as compared to Mechanical engineering technology ?
2. Does the course duration matters and if it is, then how many years are preferable ? (2 years or 3 years)

The only thing it matters is if you can get some employment, then this helps. You might qualify for post grad work permit after 8+ months program.

Thanks Shannon388 for replying and you are saying that, type and duration of course does not matters in getting PR.

Do at least 2 years study and then you will qualify for a 3 year PGWP (public college/university). This will give you time to get work experience and sort out your PR application.
