How to quit the application of PR

Hi, I am in the process of application of permanent residence of Canada. In this case, I am the dependent applicant. My common-law partner is the primary applicant.
But now, our relationship broke up. I can not apply for the PR with him together.
Do I need to write a letter to CIC to tell them I wanna quit the application ? Is there any documents needed?

The principal applicant needs to contact IRCC to have you, as the dependant, removed from the application.
