Mississauga Citizenship Ceremoney cancelled for Apr 17th

Hi got a call this morning saying the Citizenship Ceremony I will be attending today is cancelled due to flooding.. Anyone else got the same call?

Sorry to hear that happened. Did they say when they'd be able to reschedule? Hopefully it will be soon for you.

I am just a little bit suspicious.. as the call doesn't have a caller ID and they only call like 2 hours before it..
They just said they mail the new schedule... what a day...

There were 2 ceremonies today - 9:45 AM and 1:15 PM. Did both got cancelled.

Yes I got the call too today and I had the ceremony at 9am. The voice message said that the ceremony was cancelled due to flooding in the building.

I got the call this morning too and the girl said they block the number to avoid people calling back. I tried to call the cic call center but they are not taking in calls to the operator because of the high volume and advised to just keep trying to call back. They should announce this somewhere in social media though...I don’t think it’s a prank call but still, I’ll feel a lot better seeing this news somewhere else...

I got the same call for the 12.30pm ceremony today. The lady who called said she has no idea when the ceremony will be rescheduled for, and that I will receive another phone call in the next few weeks with the date/time of the rescheduled ceremony.
Has anyone here gone to the center in-person and confirmed the authenticity of this information?

The lady said she would leave a note on my file so that I could call the contact center and verify the information. But of course the contact center is not accepting any calls due to the high volume. It would be great if someone who has been there in-person could tell us if the flooding new is true.

I had my exam scheduled for tomorrow. I received a call from No Caller ID stating that exam cancelled. we will be receiving the rescheduled date later.

Could you post here once you have gone to the center Grace? Would really appreciate it. I work very far away and will not take the afternoon off if the ceremony is cancelled.

Looks like quite a few more weeks of waiting unfortunately
I already had a trip scheduled for early-May. Looks like I have to cancel all my reservations since there is not enough time to get a visa. Was expecting to be a citizen by then!

Cancellation of exams and oath ceremonies happen.
Though it is not very common these things do happen.

Just make sure you are not pranked and follow up with a call to CIC.

sure, will do. Same here, i am filling out the passport forms while getting the phone message.. May trip cancelled..
