Medical exam problem

Hi everyone. I am being sponsored under the family class by my husband. I just went for my medical exam last week and they found a 1 cm nodule on my lung. They have since scheduled me for a ct scan, to check to see if its cancer. My appt for that is the 16th of May. I'm not only scared to death about that, but I'm also worried that this will cause my application to be denied if It DOES come back that I have cancer. Does anyone know if that is a reason for inadmissability? Thank you in advance!!

Hi there. I'm so sorry about the cancer scare. The good news is that this will have no impact on your application. Spouses are exempt from medical inadmissability on the grounds of excessive burden to the health care system. Hope everything turns out OK for you!

"This will also have the effect of facilitating the arrival of families where a member has a health condition that may require less costly services, focusing the provision on those with conditions that require very costly treatment and care".

want to know if the government is looking forward "tripling the inadmissibility cap- 6635 to ~20k" to service only disabled persons or also for individuals with high medical costs.

Are you asking in relation to spousal sponsorship, or in general?
The new policy has no impact on spousal sponsorship at all, because spouses have never been subject to medical inadmissability based on excessive demand.

For all other applicants, it's my understanding the new $20K threshold applies to all applicants, not only applicants with disabilities. Applicants with disabilities will have certain expenditures related to their disability no longer be included in counting towards the threshold, but the threshold itself is being raised for everyone.

the query i mentioned in my initial post was about the primary applicant, in this case- its me. I am sponsoring my spouse who is currently residing in India, and i am currently on closed work permit in Canada since 2.5 years; I am already aware of the spouse exclusion from Medical inadmissibility, thank you for raising this question.

As per the latest (detailed immigration changes listed on) CIC Canada website article, i am little confused about consideration of only the disability applicants/ children and not everyone who might depend on provincial healthcare programs. Can you please clarify!!

Again as per my understanding of the above article, i am not sure if the government is addressing everyone or only disability applicants/ dependents in the above article. Sorry if my original response was unclear. The increased threshold of $20,000 will apply to ALL applicants, not just applicants with disabilities. This is based on my understanding. The fact that they mention HIV as an example on the page you linked seems to further imply that it applies to everyone, as HIV is an illness not a disability.

Hi again! My dr emailed me today to let me know my results have been sent in. I had contacted the cic a couple days ago to let them know my sons results would be late due to an issue with their xray machine. Anyway, today I received an email stating that I have until May 18th to get them sent in but I also received a message asking me to upload proof of medical exam. Do I need to do this if the drs are sending in the results??

I have gone through the House of Commons - response and CIC new policy revisions article along with my peers, and became aware that- the public policy is in immediate effect tripling the threshold (increase current budget of 6.5 K to 20 K) of excess medical admissibility criteria for immigrants and later government would make amendments based on the study of the data available from the new immigration rule revisions.
