Hi,

I got my Canadian PR last year in November '17 & plan to do my landing in June '18 for 3 week period for two reasons:
1. To complete PR formalities
2. Attend cousin's wedding

My parents also want to attend the wedding for which they had applied a visitor visa & got it approved recently. They have been to Canada thrice earlier.

Now my question remains: can we three land together through the same flight or should we split our dates of travel? Will the immigration officers create an issue? I would be the PR holder while my parents would be travelling on a TRV. We intend to return back to India post attending the wedding.

Looking forward to your helpful responses. Thanks :)

Hi

It doesn't matter if you travel together or separate.

You can take the same flight. Your PR landing process will be done separately after your visas are checked.

Thanks for your comforting replies @canuck_in_uk & @bellaluna.

So when i land at Toronto, do i have to declare that my parents are accompanying me?
Neither they are my dependents nor in their visitors visa application have they listed that I'll accompany them. This was a last moment plan as i was supposedly travelling in July earlier.

You do not need to say anything about your parents and probably easier to approach the CBSA desk separately anyway.

They will be assessed separately for entry as visitors anyway and will have to wait in arrivals post immigration/customs for you to complete your landing if the plan is for them to wait for you.

You’re overthinking it. Bs65 described what will happen. They are not your dependents because they are not allowed to be. Only spouses and children can be dependents in a PR application anyway.
