Me and my boyfriend are planning to migrate to Canada and would like to know the best possible option there is for us. Could anyone help us out?

In the event of us being married, If I put him down as a dependent on my application, would he need to sit for IELTS and get a sufficient score? Would that benefit us ?

You can apply as a common-law if you qualify for that.

If you apply as married, your spouse does not needs IELTS and sufficient score but if the choose to take IELTS, they can add up to 20 CRS points to the total. Also, 10 CRS points for their education. Check the CRS table for the details.
