Hi,
I have Canadian PR card which is going to expire in 3 months but my daughter's PR card had expired last month.
I'm in US on h1b visa.
NOTE: I have not met the residency requirement of Canada.
What are the chances that Border officer let my daughter in Canada with expired PR card?
Did any one face the same situation?

Your daughter will be allowed entry but as neither of you meet the RO, there is a good chance that you will be reported.

As far as I know ( and have seen one case for my friend) They will have let you and her in if you are driving. But then you should plan to stay here and meet RO since you will not get second chance ( though I'm not sure if there is any workaround)

Do you have pending i485 ? If I'm not wrong, didn't the dates once became current till 2011 before retrogression?
It became 2011 by mistake then USCIS revised to 2008. I was waiting for HR392 bill to pass which will make green card back log clear but it didn't get to the floor yet.

Thanks H1B_140approved_CanadaPR!
Can I get your friend's contact number to go over this situation if you don't mind or email address?

Hi RInk,
I am also in a similar boat. Have PR valid for one more year for myself wife and elder kid. young son does not have PR.
but both kids are US citizens.
I am planning to travel may end.I think if your kids are US citizens then you dont have to worry about their PR. I have read many blogs and Immigration Canada websites, as long as you are PR (until renounced or revoked) you have the right to enter and live in Canada.
Please share your contact number/email and lets be in touch.

There is no right to enter any country by holding some other country's citizenship. Only visiting privileges for US citizens in Canada and vice-versa.

If husband/wife is canadian citizen and the spouse and children (who are already in PR status) and live together outside canada will be automatically extending their PR status (or nothing to worry about residency requirement of the family members on maintaing PR).

If one person is not yet PR then one needs to apply for that child and complete landing formalities to gain PR status if one needs to apply for citizenship for that child. This can be done before the maxout age of the kid hence lot of time but no route to get the citizenship without applying for PR first and gain PR status.

thank you for your reply @harrajmohan
I agree with you @harirajmohan about US citizens being allowed as visitors. I plan and intend to sponsor my second son as soon as I am in Canada.(One of my friends tried and was told to show tax papers etc(Lawyer told indirectly to apply after moving to Canada)). My only point was to bring him into Canada as a visitor and of course apply after I start living there.
My question to you is, my wife and myself and elder son have PR and second son does not. Will he permitted into Canada ? (as a visitor) ? (I know they are given legal stay of upto 180 days). or do you see any other thing ?
