How is "90 days" calculated if not receiving any notification/email/diploma from my university

Hi all, please help me with my question on whether I could renew my study permit.

My timeline:
I have completed all courses of my undergraduate degree by December 7th 2017 and the grade for my final course came out on Jan 6th, 2018.
My application to graduation has just been approved by my school on Mar 26th. Before this date, they never sent me any email/transcript approved by Dean/notification to prove that I have completed my program or that I am eligible to graduate.
My convocation ceremony is on June 7th, 2018.

Now I am staying in Canada not taking any courses/work anymore. The reason that I didn't renew my study permit or apply for PGWP is that I am waiting for my letter of admission from graduate schools. I checked on CIC's webpage, and it says that "...The 90 days begin: on the date you get the first notification from your school (such as an email, letter, transcript, etc.) that you completed your program...".

However, I was recently told that my study permit has already expired, because it has passed 90 days after I finished all courses (which is Dec 7th). On the other hand, there's also people told me that the 90 days started from the date where my degree has been approved (which is Mar 26th). Could you please tell me which one is correct?

If I received my letter of admission in this week, could I still apply for a normal study permit renewal? Or should I go back to my home country and restart a new application? Please advise. Any help is appreciated.

You should have been given the end date of your student visa when you originally applied or applied for an extension.

Hi Canuck78, thank you for your reply. My original end date is on Sep1st 2018. I finished my degree earlier (less than 4 years). Therefore I assume the expiry date will be 90 days after I finished my degree. Now the biggest concern is when exactly should be the time that I finished my degree?
