The difference between inland and outland is the processing times, if you apply for outland it may be quicker however there is risk that they may ask you to come in for an interview, for example if you apply outland from UK while in Canada you may get asked to come to UK for an interview, and therefore if you would be okay to travel to the other for an interview then you can apply for outland, also note that they may or may not ask you for an interview depending on all the evidence you give.

Also i don`t think age is an issue just as long as you can prove that the relationship is genuine and not just marrying for the purpose of legal status

The differences between inland and outland are not processing times.

Firstly, the process is streamlined for a target of 12 months for both inland and outland for straightforward applications. While there is a trend that outland apps tend to move a bit faster, it's not always the case and certainly not the defining difference.

Inland: Both sponsor and applicant must be inside Canada when they submit the application, and must remain inside Canada for the duration of the processing. There is an option to submit an open work permit application with an inland application so the applicant can work during processing. Long trips outside of Canada are not advised as it could result in the application being rejected due to not meeting the inland requirement. If you do leave Canada and for whatever reason the applicant is denied re entry at the border, the application is abandoned. There is no appeal option on an inland app if rejected.

Outland: Sponsor and applicant can be living together or apart inside Canada or outside Canada. The is no work permit application with the outland application. Travel restrictions do not apply to the outland application as they do with the inland app. There is an option to appeal if you are rejected.

The age difference could definitely be a problem. What is the relationship history? What are your ages? Do you have the same culture/religion/language/education? Will you be having a traditional wedding?

If an inland app is refused, whether you can remain in Canada depends on what status you have at the time.

Several likely red flags already, especially the civil marriage. You still haven't given much information about the relationship. What are the actual ages? How much time have you actually spent together? What is her background?
