Hi guys,
So me and my wife, we are planning to apply for EE, we both have bachelors degree and 3 years of experience. However my wife is doing ACCI certification, which is basically Association of chartered insurance institute certification. which wll be completed in a couple of months, she is doing it with here job. So I have 2 questions.
1. Does WES provide any ECA for this certification.
2. If yes, does this mean either her certification or her work experience but not both will be counted, as she was working and doing the certification at the same time?
Any help is appreciated.

It looks like Canada wants all the people from USA without USA PR to move to Canada:) Take a look at the numbers on H4 visa (spouses of H1B) only currently in USA. Competition will probably not become less intense with such promotional activities targeted at USA visa holders

https://www.cicnews.com/2018/04/looming-u-s-crackdown-could-strip-right-to-work-from-thousands-of-foreign-worker-spouses-0410482.html#gs.vCtOiSw

And believe me very few of these chaps are going to move to Canada. Most will get PR as a backup so that they don't have to move back to their countries, will keep doing their jobs in US and keep waiting for green card.

In my opinion Canada is wasting time to pursue these folks.

That news is a dampener to the hopes to say the least...the wait is gonna get longer obviously and I believe a special treatment to these folks means more worry for the actual people who intend to migrate and for whom it is not just an option.. i hope a separate stream like EE be created for these folks and let CIC have separate targets for them rather than mixing them up in EE and not letting CRS come down...

I'm also surprised to see cic woo them like this. Immigration process is supposed to be fair and without any prejudice. Those in US aren't better than the rest. Bit disappointed to see this.

Those who do end up moving, will try to come back to US after citizenship.

It is not about who is better... if you have advanced proficiency in English, advanced education and skilled work experience than you are welcome to Canada. And I think that the immigration process is completely fair.

How is that article unfair to anyone outside USA? You won't get special privileges (CRS points) for living in the USA. Nor do their work experience account to more than any where else?

I would recommend you to take the test or any other possible way to increase your CRS. Considering the CRS trend this year, I doubt it would drop below 430 in next 2-3 months. BTW, no one has predicted the mind of CIC but if you have an option to increase your CRS, please go ahead and do it. I'm in the same boat, striving towards improving my CRS. Good luck ahead and best wishes for your efforts.
Thank you! I’m registering for the test now. Best of luck to all of us!

Sorry.. But this prediction business is simply waste of time.. Because no one can predict what CIC is going to do.. I was told that I would be getting my ITA by last November, then jan2018 then march.. now here I am still waiting at 432, I may or may not get direct ITA ever.. So my suggestion is If you have time, give the test again and improve the score.
I agree!!! I literally missed the draw on September because of my previous untrustworthy consultant did not want to update my new Eng test score (which is what I have now on my profile).
And there the chance never comes.... I’m registering for the test now. Good luck my friend!

My point is when there is a set process then there is no need to target a specific set of people and lure them. It's not as if there is a dearth of people applying.

Hi there Master!

Mind if you share your analysis?
I calculate the average intake into the pool per day at each CRS range based on past data and deduce the pool composition on a particular date. Then I assume the number of ITAs (currently it is 3000) and come up with the cut off if the draw happens on that particular date.

Exactly my thoughts! Then why would you and some of others say they had overshoot the ITA target? Some one even said they overshoot it by 20k!!! They issued ITAs according to the plan and I am sure they will issue similar number this year too, just little bit more evenly throughout the year!
I am just stating a possibility. It may or may not be the case.

In 2015 and 2016, the number of ITAs issued were very less as they had pending applications from before 2015 (before express entry started) and they were considering those as part of the 2015 & 2016 PR targets. After the backlogs were cleared, in 2017, all the applications to meet the economic stream targets came through the express entry. Hence, beginning of 2017 was more of a pilot run as till then the number of ITAs were very less and CIC had more control on the numbers.

In the later part of 2017, CIC started issuing ITAs in a more organized manner (keeping the number of ITAs constant for consecutive draws) and not having much up and downs like in 2017 (Jan-May), so they have a very clear picture of what they are planning to do in 2018 which was not the case in 2017.

Thanks for this and it completely makes sense. My main understanding is that there were 2 IELTS results in that 3 week draw (at least 70-80% from February test as you said because they were waiting for hard copies and one in March).

To that effect, I do not ever see the cut-off coming to 2017 lows ever again. All the websites claiming that 2018 opened with the lowest cut-off ever is all marketing BS. The real question remains is if we'd ever see a back to back draw this year at all.
Exactly marketing BS. If the Dec 20 cut off was 446, it basically means pool was cleaned up of applicants with above 446. So 3 weeks down the line, 2750 applicants have to enter newly or improve their scores to above 446 for the cut off to go above 446. So if the next cut off is 446 on Jan 10, there is no point highlighting it as the lowest ever cut off in the 1st draw of any year!
