Hi everyone,
I had a question regarding my work experience start date. I graduated on July 3rd 2017, and applied for work permit on July 20th and got approved on October 3rd 2017. When will my experience start from? July 20th or October 3rd? CIC website mentions that a person should have completed 1560 hours before applying for express entry (30 hours*12 months=1560 hrs). I work about 40hrs a week and my hours will be completed before 1 year (almost 9 months I.e. 1560/40= 8.975 months). Does anyone knows when can I apply ? On July 21st 2018, will I be eligible?

Your experience will be counted only from the date you actually started working.
And even if you worked more than 30 hrs/week, I don't think you can assume you have a year of work experience before it has actually been a year since your first day at work.

When you say actually started working, do you mean the day I was hired or the day I got my work permit approved?

When did you start working full-time after graduation?
I started working at my full time job on 19th July 2017 and applied for work permit on 20th July 2017. I received my work permit on October 3rd. Will I be able to apply for express entryafter July 20th 2018 as that's the date I applied for work permit?

Yes. Your valid work experience starts from the date you applied for your PGWP.

So the day I applied for my PGWP ? ( it was the same day I applied for PGWP and got hired for the job)
As far as my knowledge goes, the day you applied for work permit has nothing to do with work experience apart from the fact that after receiving the work permit you become eligible to work. You may start working somewhere on the same day you get your work permit or wait for a couple of weeks/months to be hired by the employer of your liking.
You cannot prove your experience by mere the fact that you had a valid work permit! You need to work somewhere, and the employer will issue you an experience certificate that "Mr.abc stated working with our company on DD/MM/YYY" and this date will be counted as the start of your work experience....
I hope it helps...

The bolded part is absolutely incorrect. Those applying for a PGWP can work on a full-time basis after applying for such permit. They DO NOT have to wait until they receive the work permit.

Likewise, you are wrong here. One's work experience may start the day he applies for PGWP IF AND ONLY IF he actually starts working somewhere on the same day, otherwise, he will be considered as 'eligible to work' (thanks for your other post) only.
And in no world, being eligible to work is treated 'actually working'!

Thanks for the information captain obvious. OP was already working by the time he applied for his PGWP.
