I would guess a very high chance of rejection, due to your incredibly long overstay. Any visa officer would just think you will overstay again due to your family ties in Canada.

You should have a back up plan in place for likely scenario your TRV is denied.

Depending on where you are from, it's possible that your PR application could be completed by September. I know they say 12 months, but anything is possible!

I am from Manila .i don’t know if anyone has ever been approved for a tourist visa after overstay but yeah My child is also going to school and is already in the 7th grade and has his life in Canada .my only proof of returning is my daughter graduating from university and of course I’d like to be there .

i also have family ties in philippines I have two other children graduating in dec so I am hoping that could be a family ties proof as well .i did go to Europe last month and came back here .so I hope that travel history would be a good shot .i need to be back here because I have a spousal application .

That may help but your chances are still slim. You won't get a firm answer here, the only way to know for sure if to apply for TRV and see what happens.

Realistically, your chances of TRV approval are slim to none. Your children to the Philippines won't count for anything, as you were able to stay away from them for 5 years anyways. Your travel history won't count for anything either because of the overstay.
