Hi All,
How many points does a spouse get for CanadianEquivalency as Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years).
Is it 2 points or 7 points? It's quite confusing, as the Canada.ca site shows secondary school diploma as equivalent to high school graduation.
Can anybody who got their diploma(3 years) evaluated confirm how much points they received & was their application succcessfully accepted for PR?
Thanks in advance.

As of my understanding, unless a person has two or more degree (one of them should be more than 3 years program), only the highest education would be counted for EE stream. So, you said that your spouse has 2 degree (one is high school diploma and the other is 2 years diploma of college or university program), then I assume the highest education of your spouse should be 2 years diploma of college or university program which gives you 7 points.

Hi Krystine,
Thanks for the reply.
I am the secondary applicant, & i have 3 years of diploma after 12th std(higher secondary).
As per the evaluation done for folks with similar qualification, the Canadian equivalency resulted in the following: Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years). I am yet to do my ECA, just wanted to know how much points will my diploma fetch. I have a engineering degree as well, which i am not planning to get evaluated as of now.

Thanks in advance,

Why don't you getting your engineering degree evaluated?

Considering you have 2 degrees (one is 3 years of diploma and the other is engineering degree), you will be getting points under 'two or more certificate, diplomas, or degrees'

The reason i don't want to do the ECA on my engineering degree is because i have quite a bit of marklists(16 in total) & my university charges fees according to the number of marklist.(which will end up to be a huge amount).
"Two or more certificate, diploma or degrees" will indeed fetch me more points-9 to be exact.
But, if the diploma evaluation results in 7 points, i don't feel it is really worth spending so much money just for 2 extra points.

I understand your point. If your score will be high enough to get the ITA with that 7 points, why not?
I wish you good luck for everything! :)

Thats the problem,I am not quite sure if the Canadian equivalency: Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) will fetch the 7 points.I have seen contradictory statements on the forum regarding the same.
Thank you for your time Krystine. Appreciate it.
All the best to you as well :)

In my honest opinion, secondary school diploma and diploma (2 years) will definitely give you 7 points... In my case, I have high school diploma and 4 years of bachelor .degree back in my home country. I got both of them evaluated through CES as the Canadian equivalency: secondary school diploma and 4 years of bachelor degree.

Since I have Canadian bachelor degree as well, I am getting points under :Two or more certificate, diplomas, degrees.

Honesty is always awarded which I mean honest degree will be definitely recognized. If you really need that score for the ITA, Go for it and you will get rewarded.

Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) comes under two years diploma so you will get 7 points as a spouse.

Hi @Immi@098 , it's been a while but would you be able to share how you ended up entering your education history under Personal Activities section? My spouse has a similar education background like yours but we are unsure whether we can enter her 3 year diploma (done after 12th grade) as 'Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute ' under Personal Activities section. She has also a Bachelor's degree which we need to enter as well in the Personal Activities section. Since I am not claiming any points for her education, this question is intended towards Personal Activities section rather than Education History section.

Thanks

Hi Guys, I have Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) 1. Canadian Equivalency: Secondary school diploma Without spouse 30 points 2. Canadian Equivalency: Bachelor's degree (four years) Without spouse 120 points

So, do I get 150point? or only the highest education points? which is 120?
How to use Two are more certificates?
I had included both certificates in Express entry, but I'm getting only 120 points.
Any help appreciated

You get 120 points for the highest degree. You can’t use two or more because 1. is a secondary school equivalency. Second program must be another post secondary degree or diploma.
