2018 POST AOR PAPER BASED APPLICANTS - WAITING FOR MEDICAL

My CIC says "your application is in progress, we will let you know when we start your background check"

I am not sure but "We are processing your background check and let you know if we need information". means they have already started working on your file and BG check is going on at present, you may received PPR in months time.

I just noticed that they are not sending FT mail to 2018 applicants any more

No one has received FT mail since December 2017 which normally takes 30 days from AOR.
Does that mean FT mails are not sent anymore or they are processing our applications in Canada

canadian embassy is not transferring files i think after november 2017.and status of many candidates is showing that you don't need medical exam. i put on iRCC webform they said every thing is normal.soon decison will be made and they will tell me about the next step.

So inland applicants file also get FT mail

My be same my case . AOR on 15 Oct 2017. ..." We are processing your application. We will send a message when we start yr BC...No need additional doc...No need interview..we will send a message if this change....If you need a medical exam, a message will be sent.. "

We do not know what's next steps.

I feel that all current files (post November 2017 ) are being processed at Ottawa irrespective of applicants visa office and there will be no FT for us.

No update I face same problem. I lost my patience.

I called CIC today to check where my application at and what are they doing currently. The agent was really patient with all my questions. He told me all the provincial nominee applications are being processed at ottawa right now. Then i asked what are they doing in my application. He checked n told me that currently the criminality check is going thru since 21 Feb 2018. When criminality is done, they will start security. He told me that out of these two (criminality and security) generally criminality is quicker, we just wait for RCMP response. For medical, he said it depends on the visa officer. Some visa officer sends medical request soon they start processing the security check and some send the medical request after completion of security check. Thats why some people get medical request in 6 months and some get after one year wait time. For the eligibility, he said its gonna stay like that until they make decisions. The file will be transferred from ottawa when the eligibility is passed and they have to complete the copr. The dedicated office will do it, like for Calgary its the local visa office in Calgary.
