Hey Guys, just something interesting that I found out.
While the status says We have not yet started your background check, It actually means that they are doing the background checks, that is why there is such a long wait as this is the thing that takes the longest. When the status changes to "We are processing your background check" That actually means that they are reviewing the results of the Background check, which only takes a day or more depending on the results.

Not all Visa Offices seem to follow this though. There are many people who report the background check going in progress and then waiting months still.

I am not sure about other visa offices, I am sure they are all different however this is some info which I learned about for Vienna Applicants

Yes! He sent it on Friday. The VAC explained that it’s a long weekend so they won’t be receiving it until Tuesday. They said he should get it back by the end of next week

They told him it would be by the 6th but I doubt that it’s that fast. We’re expecting it to take at least two weeks.

We’ll see! I have heard from a few that it takes around 5 business days. Let’s hope that it’s true!

For those of you who have sent your passports or your spouses passports to Vienna, did you sign and date the back of both photos you sent or just one?

Photos? I didn't sent ant photos now.I sent them with my application but not now with passport.Do we have to? Because I didn't see anywhere that we have to send it...

Did you get your passport back?Most of them ask for photos to be sent,what we sent with application,only 6 months is valide.

Yes it states that if the first photos are older than 6 months then you need to take new photos. Also you need to write a quick note or letter stating that the address is still the same for the applicant

Yes you need to send two photos. My husbands were almost 7 months old so he had to send new ones.
