Review of Eligibility - TRV - Survey

Hey Guys,

Let’s put up our timelines here who have got visa refusal or approval. I am just doing a small survey as to how CIC takes our cases further.

From my experience till now, If review of eligibility has started, CIC normally denies within 1 week if they have to. If the application is in eligibility of review for 2-3 weeks, it is mostly positive.

Can we gather and put down some timelines to check this theory?

Experiences shared will be much appreciated.

Submitted on 14 th March TrV and got notification on. 27 th
Visa rejected reason is family ties although was just going to attend son’s convocation ceremony.

Applied for dad's TRV online on March 10, 2018 to attend my convocation in June.
Ghost email 1: March 11,2018
Ghost email 2: March 12,2018 (Review of eligibility started)
Just checked the GC key account few minutes ago, it said updated and the update was: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Any idea why they are doing a background check, how they do this and how long does it take?

Just checked the GC key account few minutes ago, it said updated and the update was: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Any idea why they are doing a background check, how they do this and how long does it take?

I guess your application can take anywhere between 15-150 days! BC is a positive sign in one way tht means your dad’s Eligibility is approved. Now you can be certain 80% of his TRV approval unless something comes up in background check.

Well, my dad's criminal record is clear and he never did any job which involves handling sensitive information or research. Even his employment with the Police department is totally different. He is not Policeman, he is Accounts Consultant in the police department. So, God knows what kind of background they want to check and how long it will take. Meanwhile, fingers crossed.

Even remotely related with any kind of defence services calls for a security check, now you can relax for 2 months to say the least. But, let's hope you are not in any kind of emergency.

Ya, I am not in any kind of emergency. I actually thought that I should apply early so that my dad can visit me on my convocation in June. But now, I don't know it would be possible or not. Lets hope for the best for everyone who have their applications struck in BG check

Applied parents supervisa on 23Jan with upfront medical and passports sent with the application. Mother ‘s Furtherance additional tests requested on 1 feb and report sent on 12 feb . After that no updates plz advise what will happen next ? Thanks

Don’t worry about background checks, I am a PR holder and I have seen and studied all these stages in detail.
Unless someone’s name has been in a police case or interpol list or related to violation of human rights as per canadian laws, there is never an issue for people like us who follow the law.

I had applied on 26th Feb, Still stuck at Reviewing Eligibility. I am planning on visiting my wife who is studying there during her spring break. Hopefully the visa arrives ontime. I have also attached my Confirmed flight tickets which is on 12th April. Waiting eagerly for some meggage from CIC
