Hey all,

My partner and I have sent our e-APR back in December 19, 2017. Since then, there was a moment that CIC has requested my partner to provide his Fingerprints. He sent it over to Canada, got it checked and uploaded it to our profile. Since then, we have never heard from CIC again.

Considering that the most recent applications from other people were going through quicker, I was wonder if there is a way to get in touch with CIC in regards to our profile specifically to see if something has happened or if we have missed something? Timeline wise, is this still a reasonable situation?

Thanks for your time!

You can call them or raise a CSE (Case Specific Enquiry)

You're still within a reasonable timeline. It's only just been 3 months. The posted time is 6 months. You might not get any specific response (just that it's still within processing period). The fact that your partner was requested for fingerprints makes it likely it may go over the average 6-month period.

Do not compare your timeline to other people's. It will just make you crazy and/or depressed.

Thanks a lot for your reply! I really appreciate it and makes my mind less worried. :)

Checking the CIC website, the average processing date is down to 57 days, if I am not wrong. That's why I got worried when it went over 3 months and haven't heard anything from them yet. But we shall wait! Thanks again.

Also there is something called GCMS notes where you can check the proceedings and notes of your case. I have not personally used that but have seen many other people using it to see where they are at.

It looks like you checked the PR CARD processing time, which is 57 days. You're checking the wrong type of application. That will only be relevant to you on the day you get your COPR signed in Canada--that means, after you land in Canada, it will take 2 months for your PR card to be delivered to your address in Canada.

You have to select Economic Class > Skilled Workers (Federal) > On or after January 1, 2015, and it will show you a processing time of 6 months.

Yeah, it's not exactly the most intuitive set of menus.

Easier said than done, but please take a deep breath and relax. :)
