Link application online

Hi guys,

i am the sponsor for my husband and im also the non-paid representative for him as he does not speak English well. i applied for his application via paper and sent it in January. I received to my email the application file number and AOR ..

I linked my husbands application to myCIC account. and i was able to view requested documents such as MEDICAL EXAM AND SCHEDULE A and upload them. however, a week later, i received to my email again an AOR for my husband and it asked him to link the account and he has 7 days to do so. I dont understand because i already linked the application and sent them thru it the requested documents?

what should i do? should my husband also make a MYCIC account and link the application? would they allow both accounts to be linked to same application? its too confusing for them! or shud i just ignore the email since the application is already linked to me (the sponsor)..

also, i have still not received a SPONSOR APPROVAL! .. why are they asking for his medical exam and schedule A so soon! .. please reply back ASAP
as i only have 7 days to take action for my husbands link...

Only one person can link the application. There are technically 2 applications - one for the sponsor and one for the applicant which is why you get two AORs. I suggest you submit schedule a and police check asap. sponsor approvalnwill come. This is all normal

Don't worry, you can link your application after 7 days. I did mine a month after as I could not get it to link.

I too have the same issue! I’m an American and my husband in Canada is sponsoring me. How many people are you listing in your application ? You have to include yourself in the number.
If you are just sponsoring just your husband alone and no dependents number of people in application is TWO ( you and your husband) if dependents add them to your TWO number.

Maybe that is what I’ve been doing wrong.i just put 1 for myself and didn’t think about him since he is Canadian and thus my sponsor. Thanks!! So when I put family name in for my link it is my family name I put in that is on application? Is that correct?

I already linked his application successfully and sent the required documents from My mycic account... im able to see all the info of the applocation and even upload documents..and all is going well.. but wen i received an email askin to link his account.. i got confused.. does that mean they still want him to make a cic account and link the application or was that just a standard message... do u kno wut i mean?

Yup ive done all those required documents but ive then done thru my (sponsor) mycic account linked application.. but 2 days ago i received an email askin him to link it.. so its makin me feel anxious like do they see the documents that im uploading on his behalf from my account or do they need him to do his own account..

Yes, put TWO as far as family name, you have to put it EXACTLY as it appears on the way on the application you submitted

. Read the link instructions carefully, you have a choice as to what info you provide. I think, u can provide Name and UCI and file number OR passport information . If you fill in both fields it will NOT work either!!! This is where I was going wrong. Good Luck!!

They are not asking for anything now..... and hopefully my FBI background I got back in Oct will be ok since now past the 90 days..... (had to send back 3 times to get it accepted finally) anyone know how much the medical may run so I can start saving for it??

Not sure what it would be in the US, but in Russia it was around $250-$300 CAD. That's incredibly expensive for Russia, so I'm assuming the rates don't change much country to country.

Now that you mention $160 I'm starting to think that it may have been closer to that. I may have mistakenly quoted how much me and my spouse paid in total (travel, food, fees, etc.) and not the base amount that the exam itself. Sorry! That's the number I was quoting to family and friends as the total amount we had paid.
