Hi There,

I joined this forum about 3 months ago and seriously it was a great decision, everyone is very helpful. Here is another question for you all and I hope I can get some answers. I applied in December 2017 and was contacted in January to link my online application. I linked it and few days later I was requested to fill out a form, I submitted the form 2 days later and the next day after submitting the form IRCC contacted me to get my medical exam done. I submitted the exam a week later. Since I submitted my medical exam it has been more than 1 month that IRCC has not communicated to us or requested anything else.

Is this a common thing, a bad or good thing? I am just nervous because the waiting is making me think things are going bad. I would appreciate if some of you guys went to the same situation and would let me know. How long did IRCC took to contact you back?

Thanks!

You just have to hang in tight there.
For a Dec 2017 applicant, you seem to have got your AOR, Sched A and Medicals all within a span of just over a month. That's a great news and something many of us would have loved to have.
You can always check your myCIC link to check the status of your app.
IRCC will have to now review your application, verify them, do the background checks. and many more.
The Average time for a spounsal sponsorship, which the IRCC is trying to achieve is 12 months. And for Kids, it depends on the VISA offices. In either case, you are well within the times. Have patience. All the best.

It's normal.

We went almost 7 months without hearing anything.

Has your file been transferred to the VO yet? If not that should be next.

Can you explain this a little bit more? I didn't know it had to be transferred somewhere....

I appreciate your fast response! I hope this can be a quick process, My husband and I want to move to Canada asap and we are just waiting for this. We will keep our fingers crossed! thanks so much!

Yes, the file typically will get transferred to the respective visa office. Which country did you apply from

ohhh got it! I applied from Honduras, it is located in Central America

We are also from Mexico VO and since our App arrive there we didn't have any single email in around 5 months. So be very patient! Good luck :)
