Sep 22, 2016 applicant here.
Recently, I told my MP to contact IRCC. Here is the response from MP office:
"I spoke with an IRCC officer today and was told that, unfortunately, there is nothing new to report in your file. They are still waiting for the background checks results.
I am sorry.
I can inquire again in 2 months, if you need another inquiry please contact me by May 20 to remind me."
Just wondering why they said "sorry". Is it something like it gonna take a quite longer time than usual timeline? Scared if IRCC gives them any hints of possible longer processing time for my file. Frustrating.....

I don't think so, I think 2-month is just something random they estimate.

I don't think so because I got message from MP today , he told me the security check is still in process and IRCC updated my medical status
Also he told me I may hear the results within the next few weeks

My MP forwarded my medical sheets to CIC yesterday as well, my status updated to passed today, sometime in the afternoon. Your MP said within a couple of weeks????
