As I was explaining to nayr69sg I should have checked my NOA before submitting the interest. So there's no point of applying for the sponsorship? How strict are they regarding the 2015 income instead of checking recent 2017 or 2016 income?

Thank you!!
We all make mistakes. No problem. Also don't worry from what I am told there is no penalty for making false declarations to CIC.

Anyway maybe Rob is wrong and they aren't so strict. Would you still apply and try? Otherwise you winning the lottery and not applying is like winning Lotto and not going to try and collect your prize!

Would be such a waste.

Anyway I hope you give it a try and hope they accept your application! Reunification with your parents is so important!

Wish you all the best.

If there's a family of 2 husband and wife
One of them got invitation nd applied and his/her parents landed as PR
After that if other husband/wife wanna to apply for their parents
What will be the family size 4 or 6?
Thanks

Speaking of winning the lottery, I just got an email from IRCC today informing me that I can now apply to sponsor my parents. I thought they are not going to send out invitations until late April.

Anyhow, should anyone wants to know, IRCC is sending invitations now - or may be even earlier. I got mine today.

I believe it's family size is 6 because the landed parents are under their obligation.

2 husbands and a wife, huh? Well, that's complicated indeed! If one wife is somehow married to two husbands, they would be considered one family. So, my assumption is family of 6.

It will be counted as family of 6 from landing of parents to 20 years in future.

if its online form, you
As I said, if you are even $1 off your app will be rejected.
Rules are rules, there is no discretion from visa officers in this, you either meet the income amounts or you don't.
is it like an online form that if your income does not meet the requirement, you are not able to submit? otherwise I can't imagine how this is done by human being (what do i know i'm not even selected)

What are the approximate times for parents sponsorship? The processing times website says they're working on January 2014 applications. Is that still true?
Also, is there a spreadsheet tracking applicants from 2017 batch?

Nope. You can submit. There is nothing preventing anyone from submitting an application once they are selected by the lottery system. In fact CIC is obliged to process the application received once the applicant is picked by the lottery system even if they qualify or not qualify thus using up tax payer dollars and man working hours to process an application that does not meet requirements and handle and respond to queries appeals etc.

Correct Rob?

But for the sake of having a fair system, this is price we all have to pay.

I think I better scale back here. Peace out!

They will process it because the applicant paid $550. ;)

Ahh I see! So it is in CIC's interest to have as many people who don't qualify to submit applications. They collect $550 per application and in the end the applicant doesnt get to sponsor their parents. hence there is no added strain to the healthcare system or use of tax payer dollars.

Interesting! If you ask me I would expand the program and invite everyone to submit applications! :)

You can hire more people to process. Creates jobs!
