Six month validity Rule

Will I be able to enter Canada with less than six months on my passport. I really want to visit Canada July 2018 but my passport expires in November 2018. Everyone is telling me about the six month validity but some are saying Canada is an exception. I would be travelling with my kids and don't want to face any complications. I just want a two week vacation. My new passport is taking forever to process and I doubt I may get it in time. Can someone please advise? Thanks

There shouldn't be an issue because the CBSA officer will issue valid stay date before your passport expires in November instead of the usual 6 months valid stay. The only issue that you might run into is the airline companies because they might not let you board without 6 months validity in your passport.

That's ok, I only intend to go for two weeks with my kids to experience summer in Canada
