gap in work history

I have a 2 year gap in the CV/resume and I wonder if I can just change the dates of the two jobs before and after that gap by adding 6 months to each job and therefore closing the gap to 1 year instead of two.
I want to do this in my CV (because employers don't like too many gaps in work history) but the problem is about reference from previous employer must they say i worked from xxx until last day of xxxx and also when I submit profile to immigration I will need those letters and CV?

Another question if I cant change dates then can I write in cover letter that I did part time work on weekends for cash during that 2 year gap but I don't have reference letters for immigration

So you're asking how to add fake periods of employment in your application to reduce your gap?

yes because if I were to close the gap in my CV then I need to match my cv with my personal work history application, but I think i'll just leave the gap alone and stay safe both on CV and application.

Ok understood, on another question is it possible to only add skilled work experience in my application even with year gaps and leave out work experience which has nothing to do with skilled trade.
example only use information for a cook but leave out working in a petshop as salesman.
