Greetings,
Has anyone's refugee claim been selected under IRB's expedited policy? If so, may I please know who long it took you to get a decision? My claim was selected on 01/12/2017

Hello everyone, so talking about work permit, what kind of work are asylum seekers accessible to. Can professionals seeking asylum pursue jobs at that level or not.

My second question is, having been granted work permit, are you allowed to send money home to wife and children monthly

Depending on your situation you are not guaranteed a work permit as an asylym seeker. Employers are reluctant to offer jobs to asylum seeker because there is no guarantee they will be accepted so it will be difficult. Also depends on your professional experience and education.

It will depend on your "talking" abilities. If you can convince an employer that you will be in Canada for at least 2 years (which is the time that the IRB is taking to hold a refugee hearing) then you should be able to get a good professional job. You are going to have to network pretty hard and make your case to the employer.

Yes being accepted as a refugee is not dependent on whether you receive social assistance. Many refugees arrive in Canada without the necessary language skills or may be single parents of young children. If you are able to work and habe been granted a work permit Canada does expect you to try your best and establish yourself amd work until you get your hearing.

so as you said, Canada does expect you to work, establish your life of course if you have your work permit. that is what i said to him, just to come here and live with the benefits of the government, not so good way.

It is an expectation but you are unable to do so he will not be penalized. It will likely only benefit him if he does make an effort to establish himself.

Thanks for the thoughts. I appreciate. The other question is left unanswered. Will the Canadian government allow one to send either part of social assistance fund or work permit proceeds to family back at home.

Yes you can send money your home country. I'm sure it is done but it would be frowned upon to send money that is given to you by the Canadian taxpayer to support your family in another country especially if you then seek out other charity like food from the foodbank, etc.
