Is it okay if the work experience is split between 2 different jobs under the same NOC? An agent seems to think it should be with the same employer but CIC doesn’t specify that anywhere.

Yes as long as there is no break in continuity (if FSW applicant).

Applying from India so I believe it's FSW.

As DelPiero commented, there cannot be any gap between the two jobs, and they should essentially be the same job.

Note that this "continuity" requirement only applies to the NOC you are claiming as your "primary NOC." - you need one year of full-time continuous employment in a skilled NOC.

Of course, to qualify, you will probably need more than one year of work experience, but it does not all have to be continuous - just one year.

One year of continuous full time work experience in the primary NOC albeit with 2 different employers (6 and 6 months-one cash, other paid by bank) and this being the only employment ever, and employment points being claimed for this one year only.
