PGWP not extended, PR application still in progress

Applied for PR in June 2017, PGWP expired in March 2018. I did not understand what implied status meant, I was mislead to think one has implied status while one's PR application is in progress so i didn't apply to extend my PGWP. Now I discover my status is lost, I can't work, don't know how long before my PR is finalized. I can apply to restore status but not sure if it will restore my work permit, since it was a PGWP. Your input please.

A PGWP can't be extended. You needed to apply for a BOWP but it's too late now. You need to apply for Restoration as a visitor.
